Important update to the Starmind Microsoft Teams App

Microsoft has updated the permission requirements for Teams apps. As a result, the conversational bot in the Starmind Teams App has been removed.

What’s different

Users can no longer interact with Starmind through a chat bot in Microsoft Teams. Starmind’s Knowledge Suite remains available through the Teams app tab. The app can still send notifications, such as onboarding guidance, reminders, and alerts with links back to the app.

Impact

Users will no longer be able to ask questions or get answers directly in a Teams chat. Access to Starmind is now via the Teams app tab, and notifications guide users to the platform. The app now requires fewer permissions in your Microsoft 365 / Entra ID tenant, which reduces access to tenant data and simplifies administration.

Action required

Please update to the latest version of the Starmind Teams App. We also recommend that your Microsoft 365 / Entra ID administrator reviews and removes any permissions previously granted for the bot functionality.
